The Mehndi ceremony is a festive event where the application of henna takes place. The couple is joined by their loved ones to get henna tattoos (or mehndi designs) applied to their bodies before the wedding day. Henna symbolises positive spirits and good luck and is a way of wishing the bride and groom good health and prosperity.

You can wear a flowy maxi dress, a knee-length Indian-inspired outfit, or even a colorful saree if you feel comfortable

If you want to wear Indian clothes to an event, this is the one! In Indian wedding ceremonies, it is customary to avoid wearing black. You may also wear formal American attire, should you choose.
